Sorry

Sorry I've not posted on here recently but I've had a number of falls and have been in pain for a while. Am steadily getting better and hope to be posting properly again after Christmas. I will tell you all about the CRAKS (christmas random acts of kindness - ie an atc that is sent as a gift rather than a swap) that I have sent and received.

Until then, Happy Christmas and may next year bring all that you desire.

ATC - new beginnings

This atc was made for a friend on the theme of "new beginnings". I saw the baby decoupage and was inspired to develop the theme into "new beginnings....new life." The picture was decoupaged in the middle of the atc, with the words added from alphabet stickers. Unfortunately, when I sent this to New Zealand to my friend, it got lost and never arrive. :^( Pity, cos I think its really cute and I'm sure she would have loved it.

first attempt at tea-bag folding

Tea-bag folding is a fairly new skill for me. This is the first tea-bag atc I made, its not bad but I think my later ones were much neater.

ATCs & house - combining the two

This is a House atc that I made, one of a series. It's a good way of combining my 2 interests. Hope you like it. It was made by downloading a picture to atc size, printing it, cutting it out and mounting it onto an atc card. Straightforward and simple.

Wilson, another cutie from House

In addition to loving Greg House, I'm also quite keen on Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard). He's pretty cute too but House is still my preferred choice. But, at least having 2 cute guys in the same show gives me more to look at!!!!

"Everybody lies"

Probably the most famouse House-ism is "Everybody lies" - it gets said most episodes. But is it true???? I'll leave it to you to decide, I just wanted an excuse to post another piccie of the gorgeous, grumpy yet sexy doc ;^)

ATC - cross of faith

Another one of a series - consisting of cross, cross of faith, cross of hope & cross of love - each with a teabag folded cross in the centre, decorative matching corners and the appropriate word added under the cross. I made this series in 2 different colours and can make them for anyone who would like them, leave a comment to let me know you are interested. Thanks

ATC - red dragonflies

This atc is one of a series - each with a different coloured background. Dragonfly and flower stickers were placed on a blank atc, then shaded with shades of red using whispers markers. The stickers were then removed, allowing the white card to show through the colouring - a simple, effective atc - at least, I think so anyway ;^)

ATC - bag

A shaped atc - to prove that it is only the size of the atc that is important. All atcs should be 9cm x 6.5cm (and they should only be swapped, never sold) and that's the only rules. This atc was cut to size and then I cut a slight diagonal down each side (obviously, not too much or the size would be wrong) - I then shaped the handle and cut the centre part and folded it down. Decorative papers were added for effect, and the words "my bag" using alphabet stickers. The overall effect was completed with the addition of sticker stars.

"Abiding Spirits" - links between House and Holmes

This is a stunning piece of artwork that I found on the internet which not only shows House and Wilson, but also depicts Sherlock Holmes and Watson. An article I found highlights the connections between House and Holmes. There are more links than maybe you realise. (How many can you think of?)
NB neither the picture shown or the article are by me - I admire the work of others and have put them on my blog - I am in no way claiming any responsibility for the above.

ATC - fine lady & flower

This atc combines 2 techniques - decoupage and embossing. The flower was embossed onto the card using an embossing machine. The lady is a decoupaged image, where the basic picture is cut out and applied to the card then subsequent layers are added using foam pads.

A stunning collection of images

I love this poster - I have used most of the pictures on it to create House themed atcs - I especially love the picture of House in this one - very sexy indeed xxx

ATC - fashions

This atc was made by attaching bodice stickers to patterned paper, the image was then cut out and added to the atc with foam pads. I then placed stickers of jewellery and shoes directly to the card.

I love House

Okay, enough about atcs at the moment - it's now time to talk about my other passion. Greg House (played by Hugh Laurie) is brilliant. Before I start waffling on about him, I will say that I know he isn't real but I DON'T CARE!!!!! He is sexy and gorgeous - even though he is grumpy. The thing is, before House, I didn't fancy Hugh Laurie at all (sorry Hugh) but, since seeing him as House I can't believe the change. He is sooooooooo sexy!!!!! Can't understand what it is, but there's definately something. I have 3 seasons so far of House on DVD and am awaiting season 4 to come out over here - obviously, I watched it on TV (and, boy, did I sob at the final episode - it was soooooo sad) but I want it on DVD so I can watch it whenever I want. Hopefully, season 5 will come to channel 5 soon so I can get a new fix of the sexy doc.

ATC - girl thing

This was created as a 4-way jam swap organised by a member of the docrafts forum. The atc was divided into 4 sections. I decided on the theme of "its a girl thing". I created the top left corner with a handbag charm and a sticker and sent it to the next person on the list. They did another corner and passed it on until all 4 corners were finished and the completed atc was returned to me. I think its stunning and really enjoyed taking part.

ATC - boots walking

Another simple atc - I printed the words "These boots were made for walking" onto acetate, cut it to fit (atc size 3.5 ins x 2.5 ins) and attached it to the patterned card with the shamrock brads. The boots were ready-made toppers and were glued in place over the acetate.

ATC - afraid of the dark?

A simple atc made from a funky foam background with wobbly eyes attached. The words "Afraid of the dark?" were then added.

Welcome

Hello & welcome to my blog concerning 2 things I am very interested in - namely atcs (artist trading cards) and House (Dr Greg House, that is - not buildings!!!)

I will talk more about both in later posts
